Men intimidated by strong women, is not a mystery. (Notice the precision here; I’m not generalizing all men) It’s all about their lack of self-confidence but who am I talking to? I’m not referring to aggressive women whom crush men like small flies, but to women who have a strong opinion and whom do not wish to fall into a man’s shadow. We simply do not want to remain cute and silent like an accessory! Nobody puts” this” baby in the corner.
A long time ago, I was having this discussion with a guy who definitely did not agree with me at all. According to him, a strong woman will let her partner know when she feels like she’s living in his shadow. What this guy does not know however, is that the strong woman has pride and her pride will restrain her from admitting this.
So we will not stay in the shadow and we shall remain single. Cheers!

Introducing a Norwegian artist: Jarle Bernhoft

I first saw him perform at the Oslo fashion week last year. His voice and groovy music managed to shut up the pretentious and superficial crowd. I was amazed.
This year, my friend I. bought me a ticket to his concert as a birthday present. I was delighted by the fact that I was going to hear more of his music. His blue-grass-like music and groovy tunes sets you in a good mood and often makes you forget that you’re in Norway and more like in a bar in New Orleans.
I love his frisky attitude and the way he owns the stage.

It's November
It’s November. I’m driving home from work.
Outside, the sky is pitch black but the city lights are well defined. I feel the cold chill down my spine and turn on the jazzradio while the heater starts to warm up the car.
“I miss summer “ I think to myself.
Within a few mintues, the car has reached into a nice warm temperature. Waiting for the green light, I'm observing the tiny snowflakes that melt as they hit my car window. As Nina Simone sings "Don't let me misunderstood", the depressive and cosy blends, leaving me with a relieving feeling.
I guess winter is not so bad after all.

It must come
It must come, right before I sleep, when I lay my head on the pillow. Just before I dose off,a spark from my cell phone...An unknown number with a sweet message, ending with a known name.
It must definitely come, tonight.

Elements of the urban society: The Laundrette

There is something about public laundrettes. The obligatory gathering of strangers due to necessity. The atmosphere of big washers working and people quickly piling up their whites and colours.(oops! Hope no one saw my underwear there!) Some are reading books while some have started conversations about everyday issues.
The washers are creating an eclectic mix of orchestra, blended with the scent of the fabric softeners.
