Harrys Gym

I like Harrys Gym. They're new and they're humble. Their debut album contains 10 songs and they manage to deliver. I've never been good at placing songs in genres so you have to figure it out for yourself. I saw them warming up for Tommy Tokio last year at Rockefeller and loved them. However, listening to them on a Saturday evening at Garage, was probably not the best alternative as I was in the need to tap my feet and not just stand still, as Harrys Gym requires you to.

The Swan by Arne Jacobsen

"In Denmark" he said, "Students invest in Arne Jacobsen chairs in order to sell them for a higher price later." "That's ridiculous" I replied, "In Norway, students fill their dorms or apartments with IKEA or secondhands in one day and that's it. What's the point of buying just one furniture and lack the other?"

I guess we both had a point. All in all, I love this version of Arne Jacobsen's
The Swan. White leather is just beautiful and the chair "only" costs $11392.

Patience

Patience is a virtue that I will never posess. I cannot lie about it and I cannot pretend that it's ok for me. All the hours that I wait for something to happen or done, is a waste to me. It's like I'm watching my life go by and my hands are tied. I look beyond the glory of enjoying the moment and focus on what's ahead of me.

So there I was, marketing myself to a person that has never met me before and faced with the question "Are you a patient person?" Damn it I think, everything was going so well until this moment. I simply cannot be honest about this. You know what the right answer is, but can you fake it?

I start biting my lips and with a hesitation answer "yes".

Love in Argentina

Love in Argentina can be found in every corner
As the sun gets warmer and the devotion becomes stronger
Lustful souls become silouttes
Among the arising heat from the asphalt.

Going out,what for?

I remember the days when I would do anything to go out on Saturdays. Every Saturday was scheduled to go out and every Saturday was worth the hassle. The eager preparation, the waiting in long lines (even during winter) just to get in some fancy club where we more or less never managed to have fun.

Now I enjoy house parties, where you actually manage to have descent conversation with a normal person. Now and then, you might get the evil eye from a girl who has an eye on the person you're talking to, but that's just the thorne upon the rose.

A normal day at Grünerløkka

A normal day at Grunerløkka during summer (oh I miss summer!) consists of the crazy- probably-South American lady walking hastily down Thorvald Meyers street and preaching angrily at the horizon. She has a language of her own, and people have accepted her that way. What's the fun part with being normal anyway?
Me and a friend eat our favourite meal at the restaurant Mucho Mas while a tram starts honking at a car that has parked in the middle of the street.
Like in all 'wrong parking' situations, the driver cannot be found and a stream of trams are starting to line up one after the other. The chaos has started and there's life!
Finishing our full satisfying meal, we head for the cafe a little further down the street. It's warm and sunny. The laidback atmosphere almost resembles a Latin American country. We almost spill our coffee while sipping when we're suddenly accompanied by a band, playing their trumpets and trombones on full volume.

"My my." I think, while the car in the background is being pulled bu a tow truck.

The ideal first date garnish

To me, the ideal first date is not a dinner or a visit to the cinema but a simple evening with beer and snacks. A picture from the movie 'He's just not that into you' illustrates what I mean perfectly:)

From our bubble.

Ain't it funny how we watch the everyday news with disasters, catastrophees and tragedies with indifference, while we manage to be paralyzed by our own simple truths?
How often doesn't a plane crash or a financial crisis seem far from our bubble?
When something does affect us we ask "Why me?", while we have never accepted that we're all a part of this play.

So as long as you don't question "why them", you shouln't question "why me".
