In a conversation where almost everyone in a boasting and in a self-satisfied tone is speaking of how much they depise TV and that they don't have it in their homes,it is hard to believe in one's sincerity. By this, I don't mean that is impossible not to like TV and the popular culture it represents, but that television in itself is not a symbol of the American "couch potato" lifestyle that a lot of Norwegians feared in the beginning of the 1960's.
Indeed we can blame TV for the cause of lazyness and uhealthy living, but associating it with negativity is the same mentality as to when people would consider Rock as the devil's music and not approve of it.
As we are not victims of this medium,a healthy mind will know how to evaluate the different shows and programmes as well as live a life filled with social activities and entertainments.

Oslo
Oslo;I needed to leave you to appreciate you. Therefore I'm in a city totally contrasted, with air pollution, noise pollution and overcrowded streets. The weather is warmer, sometimes unbearable.
Unlike your hills, high blocks and buildings are scattered on bare hill tops, making me wonder how safe it would be to live there, in a country that lies on a geological fault line. True, we are not safe anywhere but here, the feeling of insecurity is stronger.

2 seconds
It took exactly 2 seconds for the girl to hang up the phone, burst into tears and hurriedly put on her sunglasses while she felt a mixture of embarrasment and shame that I had witnessed it. For she was embarrased that a stranger had witnessed this moment of weakness and defeat.
It seemed like she had manned herself to speak angrily and determined to the person on the other side of the phone. She managed it too. Maybe her heart was broken. She couldn't stand it anymore. Who knows.
The phone was hung up, she could do her crying now. All in all, she had said what she wanted, it hurt but she was not defeated. She was heartbroken but she was strong.

Office rat, copy cat
You would think that working in a 9 to 5 job everyday consists of one steady curve without ups and downs. Indeed, you start the day with logging on and end it by logging off and feel that every day is exactly the same, but it is the small challenges of the office rat that keeps them at unease and makes them want to look over their shoulder when they have that brilliant idea.
Any time, anywhere, we are surrounded by copycats that live on our ideas, personalize them and present them to the superiors in a new wrapping. Some of us respond by a high level of shock, followed by a silence, while some people squeek and protest, though fully acknowleged that this will make them seem more as a lunatic as to reasonable.
As the office rat nibbles over the unfairity of life, the copycat is given a halo whilst the applaud of the crowd can be heard several floors below.
