The rejection of Dorian Gray

The rejection of Dorian Gray is brutal.

Like resisting gravity and holding your breath under water.
There is no turning back once you come to a decision; to release yourself from the euphoric layers of his atmosphere.

For days and weeks you will stare in the mirror, watching your mascara run like a tiny dark stream across your face.

Bare with me when I assure you that you will first suffer, suffer and suffer until you recover.

Resistance

There is resistance, to my surroundings.
Water that touches my skin, runs dry before it reaches the ground.

Edvard Munch and his male subjects

It's been a long time, since I explored the corridors of the Munch Museum and reminded myself of what other masterpieces apart from the well known ones, he has created.

Among his 1789 paintings, there are so many different settings and emotions, as well as interesting characters. What struck me the most this time, was his charismatic male subjects. I love the idea that Munch was a part of the "bohemian crowd", living in areas in Oslo which are now especially trendy among hipsters. Looking at some of his male subjects, I can see how he was influenced by his circle of friends.

Not synchronized.

She asked "Tomorrow?"
He replied "Maybe next week".

She said "I miss you".
He said "...."

It just wasn't good enough.

Two tickets to the cinema

I had 2 tickets to the cinema. The movie was irrelevant, just an excuse for my plot; to be alone with you.
We were going to sit in the back row. I would smuggle a bottle of red wine and two plastic cups.

We would sip it feeling half blissful, half culpable while I was anxiously waiting for you to put your arm around me.

Jean pierre leaud and Chantal goya in "Masculine feminine"

No era was greater than the other.

No era was greater than the other. Ours wasn't the best because we had outlived them all.
To be happy meant being perfect and being perfect was as impossible as feeding a beast that was expanding in all dimensions.
We stood on top of the mountains with our arms outstretched to the sky, with the feeling of conquering some other person's dream. The fear of missing out was stronger than ever, though we very often didn't care to be a part of it.

Since we were not doing great things such as changing the world. We were microparticles of utopic fantasies.

I put my music on

I wasn't going to let them in anymore, through the layers of my atmosphere. Earlier they had sucked the life out of me, giving me nothing in return. I tried to reveal to the world, the little earthquakes inside of me, but no one was interested. I couldn't trust anyone anymore either.
It felt natural as anything else, to just stop smiling, laughing, talking, reacting and involving myself in other people's sentences. I put my music on and found myself in the lyrics. They understood me. They had been there before.

Diamond rings

There are diamond rings at the bottom of the ocean, unable to explain themselves. They carry a burden of happiness and sadness, admiration and resentfulness, pride and shame.

Several stories have ended the same way; thrown and vanished into the absorbing sand so quickly, that even the doubtful has needed to stand by his decision.

The Northern Lights

"How can you sleep when it's so light outside?" She was looking out of the window as if examining something on close hold.
"Don't worry", he replies. "If you're tired enough, you will. This is Norway, you will get used to the summers, and when the time comes, the winters."

"I am tired", she says. "But I'm worried too. Those are my friends out there, my future, my dreams, my holidays. I need to do more than just lift a finger."

Unaffected by her sulkiness, he places a cigarette on his lips and starts searching his pockets for matches. Why didn't he ever keep them at the same place? His pockets are empty, so he moves towards the gas oven and bends his head for spark.
He looks at her, over his shoulder , while exhaling. Women, he thinks. Always so dramatic.

He goes back and sits next to her. He puts his free arm around her shoulder and exhales the smoke towards the other direction.

"They will arise, you know. Underneath all the smoke and tear gasses, lies a newly redeemed nation."

Closure

I'm hurting, inside out
The wound doesn't heal.

There was no closure, the untangled truth could have saved me from banging my head on walls, the sudden outbursts once the doors were closed.

Madness takes over when I pick up the phone, hoping you won't answer. I watch after each dial tone, the sky turns a shade darker.

Punk Stories from the 80's

Punks; growing up in the 80's I was intimidated by them. They were mysterious, edgy, outstandingly creative when it came to style. Their spiky hair and the spikes on the jackets were almost like a shield against us and the reactions of people whom simply didn't understand them.

Little Earthquakes

And then he was gone. Thin air.
It took only a couple of minutes from Hello to Goodbye while my facial expression failed to follow.
I didn't weep that night, but I drank myself to sleep.
Nobody needed to know the little earthquakes in my head. I possessed no secret worth an ear drop.

Let's take a walk in the snow.

Reposting: Vampire state of mind

You wake up one morning, lonely, drained and thirsty not remembering what came over you last night. A look in the mirror stumbles you when you are shocked by the bitemarks on your neck and the paleness of your face. Every part of your body aches. Yesterday's sadness and despair that made you do what you did,is now replaced by emptiness.

But if there is one thing that's worse than sadness, then that is to be senseless.

Parallel universes

Everything comes to focus from a certain distance. While observing parallel universes, the stars allign and collide at the same time. The places, faces and selfish intentions.
I visualize you tossing and turning under covers, raptured by destructive thoughts.
Nothing happens overnight...

Feed the beast

It's that time of the day, to feed the beast; the empowered monster of your paranoia. It shuts you down without a restart.
It's hard to admit it, this disorder, chronic mood swings in technicolor.

What makes you want to dance on tables to later crouch in a corner and cast a shade on your glow?

One step forward, two steps back.

History always repeats itself, you recall the last time you were in this position, a sudden insecurity caused by chain of actions. The remains of a collapsed building, rubble and dust, makes you choke on your own words about getting somewhere any than here, the starting point of your dreams and disappointments.
